Read Guardian Angel, Secret Servant and Final Fling in that order. Weinberg writes as Kate Westbrook, the fictional editor of Jane Moneypenny’s diaries. The sequence shifts attention from Bond’s missions to Moneypenny’s Cold War intelligence work and personal history. Secret Chapters collects two additional short pieces and stays here as an ebook-only entry.

Reading order

1. Guardian Angel (2005)

   Jane Moneypenny’s polished office manner conceals an adventurous private life, brought into focus when Bond’s secret Cuban mission is endangered. She enters the field to try to save him, making her own account the centre of the first Moneypenny diary novel.

2. Secret Servant (2006)

   Jane Moneypenny faces trouble at work and in her private life as the service is shaken by treason and defection. Bond’s KGB brainwashing and a family secret add pressure, while a dangerous Russian mission makes the crisis increasingly personal.

3. Final Fling (2008)

   In the mid-1960s, Jane Moneypenny and Bond investigate a mole inside the Secret Intelligence Service while defection scandals threaten her access to help. Decades later, her niece Kate Westbrook examines the circumstances of her aunt’s death, linking the intelligence case with its later consequences.

4. Secret Chapters (2020)

   Two additional Moneypenny short pieces in an ebook collection.
