Affiliate disclosure

This page explains how the site makes money and how that is kept separate from what we recommend.

We link to Audible UK for audiobooks and Waterstones for print books. Paid links for both shops use Awin. A paid shop link can earn a commission: when a reader follows one and makes an eligible purchase, the retailer or its affiliate programme may pay Does Your Duck Quack. Commission is a payment to the site, rather than an extra charge to the reader.

What a paid link means for you

A commission is a payment to this site for referring a purchase. It does not add a fee to the price you pay. The shop sets its own prices, availability, delivery terms and membership conditions; check those details before ordering. Audible purchases and subscriptions are subject to Audible’s terms, while Waterstones orders are handled by Waterstones.

How we mark links

Paid text links carry a “Paid link” label. Groups of paid buttons have a short commission disclosure alongside them. ISBNs identify particular print editions; an audiobook can have a different narrator or running time from another recording of the same story.

Our recommendations

Commission does not decide our reading order, book summaries or content advice. We choose links to fit the reader’s question and the editions described on the page. We do not invent discounts, prices, reviews or star ratings, and we distinguish books from their screen adaptations.

Advertising and questions

Advertisements, when displayed, are labelled “Advertisement” and kept separate from editorial recommendations. Shop links lead to external sites with their own privacy policies. For questions about this policy or a link that appears incorrect, email webmaster@thegoldentypewriter.com or use our Contact page.
