The 2025 recordings: one actor per book

The current series gives each Bond book to a different actor, including Richard Armitage, Adjoa Andoh, Alex Kingston, Mark Gatiss and Johnny Flynn. The lengths above show how short some of the books are: Octopussy and The Living Daylights runs under three hours.

We have not ranked the narrators, because we have not listened to every recording. Audible pages usually carry a short sample, which is the best way to choose.

The earlier star-cast recordings

Audible's series page also describes an earlier set of Bond recordings read by actors including Dan Stevens, Rory Kinnear, Bill Nighy, Rosamund Pike, Tom Hiddleston, David Tennant and Kenneth Branagh. The page does not say which actor read which book, so check the individual listing before buying.

Full-cast radio dramatisations

BBC Radio 4 has dramatised some of the novels with Toby Stephens as Bond, including From Russia with Love (first broadcast 21 July 2012) and Moonraker (31 March 2018). For children, a BBC full-cast Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with Alex Jennings and Imogen Stubbs is on Audible UK. AudioFile praised David Tennant's reading of the book, as quoted on its Audible page.

Collections and memberships

Audible UK also lists a four-volume Original James Bond Collection. Check whether a volume is abridged, or repeats recordings you already own, before buying it. Whether a title is in the Audible Plus catalogue, and what any free trial includes, changes over time, so check on Audible itself.
